Copper ORE

Copper concentrate, the initial commodity on the copper production line, consists of approximately equal amounts of copper, iron and sulfide. Precision ore is the starting material for all copper smelters, which is used to produce impure metallic copper called anode or hot water copper, which is then refined to produce high-quality copper. Refined ores are made by crushing the ore to a particle size that can release copper by flotation. Copper concentrations in concentrates from various locations ranged from 24 percent to 36 percent. The copper concentrate then undergoes a final filtration and drying process, reducing its humidity by 8-9 percent.
